Hoi Helolesz de Kalain

I was going through my folder of Reason files I made and I came across this one that I recorded fairly recently but forgot about it. It's an early version of a zeuhl type track inspired by two Magma albums, K.A. and M.D.K. I've recorded better versions of it since, but this one shows the roots of how it all developed. I've left it as is, warts and all (and theres a lot of warts). It's just an improvised piano track so dont expect anything other than brutal! :)

I've had to switch back to mediamax.com to host the file as myfilehut.com seems to have disappeared. I think mediamax have gotten their act together now and there shouldnt be any download problems. If there are let me know.

I only noticed when making the above image that "Gamma" is an anagram for "Magma", isnt that fucking amazing? lol Oh the title of the post is roughly Kobaian for "One drop of passion", its about as poetic as I'll ever get with the few words that have been translated. The original filename for the piece was "stuff.rns" but its now renamed as offering.

Another One Goes Full Throttle

I gave that Virtual DJ program a spin (heehee awful pun) a few months back. Sure it was great and all but I lost interest fairly quickly, nothing wrong with it but I prefer not to mix in real time. One thing that did annoy me with it though was the way it would stop dead after you spin it. I would have liked a way to let it spin down as it would in real life. The video mixing is truely great fun though. Before I gave up on it I banged this choon out of it. Tom of C.O.S.M. inspired me with his fantastic version of Another Bites the Dust. I mashed up Queen with the Prodigy.

Sorry

I wont say much about this one, except that all the tracks are played live and I just wish I used a click track to begin with. I do find it annoying how I build a song up based on a rough initial track. I liked where this song was going so I started to program it into Reason, then I got bored.

I equate recording songs like this to building a wall. It's like someone comes along, puts a few rows of blocks down and then says to themselves "Sure this is a lovely wall; I'll build it proper now" and then proceds to morter the blocks in place and try to lay its foundation down underneat it. You just can't do things that way, its a bottom up approach, no point polishing a turd! With a fresh start this could be a tight little tune.

Sorry

Just some old random psy thing.
